This year’s winner…A Thymely Manner!
Rosetta Sicoli, A Thymely Manner has won the 2008 VQA Restaurant Award of Excellence. This is a tremendous accomplishment for Rosetta and the entire Thymely family. In addition to being the first recipient of such an honor in Sault Ste Marie, Rosetta and the Thymely Manner have the privilege of being the only restaurant in Northern Ontario to receive this Award.
The journey began in 1995, when Tony Aspler founded the Ontario Wine Awards recognizing Ontario VQA wines for their quality, distinction and brilliance. The Wine Council of Ontario Trade Luncheon is held annually, and attended by quests such as Paul DeCampo - Slow Food Toronto; Honourable Leona Dombrowsky – Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs; Donald Ziraldo – Chair of Vineland Research and Innovation Centre; and Lori Stahlbrand – President of Local Food Plus. The Wine Council of Ontario recognizes licensees that exhibit strong support of Ontario VQA wines and high professional standards in wine service. The Award is given to the establishment who is embracing Ontario VQA wines and inspiring their clients with substantial Ontario VQA wine lists and tasting menus. Mary Ledlow, Vinaissance, selected the VQA wines, and and designed the wine lists.
“We would like to thank our friends, family and patrons for your love and support throughout the years. Without you…this would not have been possible. Gracia!”
